This Could Be The Best Budget Messenger Bag

We all go through life doing different things, working different jobs, and living different lives. This means we all have different needs to get through the day and everything we use doesn’t need to weigh our pockets down. Some items only get used when needed and would be in the way when stuffed in a pocket. There are a lot of bags and gear on the market. While working, I have opted to use budget gear. My definition of budget is it is reasonably priced, the quality is above the price point, and is easily replicable.

My messenger bag of fifteen years was in need of replacing so after careful consideration, I went with a Barsine Mens Messenger Bag with a price tag just under $15 on Amazon. It is made of a soft leather and it has four pockets on the outside with a zippered pouch on the outside of the flap and another zippered pouch on the back. The pockets on the front will hold my phone, a Samsung A35.

The zippered pouch on the flap holds an ink pen, 12 volt charger, and a Crescent 4 ½” tongue and groove pliers.

The zippered pouch on the back is the perfect size for a Mead Five Star 5 ½” x 3 ½” spiral college ruled notebook.

The inside of this messenger bag has a nylon type fabric with two open pockets and a zippered pouch. The two inside pockets have two ONN 8,000 mAh power banks and a 5,000 mAh power bank with a light from 5 Below. I know some people would ask why I didn’t just spend $25 on a good power bank. The reason is I didn’t purchase these at the same time. I started with the one from 5 Below and then added one of the ONN banks. I stuck the ONN in my pocket and it fell out and I couldn’t find it. Do you remember my definition of budget? I stopped by Walmart and bought a second power bank and the first one turned up the following day. The zippered pouch holds my disposable gloves and an Olight i3E EOS.

The rest of the interior holds a first aid kit, zip ties, cord to charge my phone, a cooling bandana, and some paracord that I picked up at the dollar store. Over the years, I have tried several different cooling towels and my favorites have been the ones that don’t stiffen once dry.

There is a pocket on both sides of the bag.one of these holds a multitool, a Work Pro 18 in 1. This multitool has a pocket clip so I could just clip it on the pocket, but I think I will use the sheath it came with.

My first impressions of this bag are really good and I hope it will last as long as the one it replaced. After several years of using shoulder bags, I have found that a five pound limit is ideal for comfortable carry and this setup is four pounds ten ounces. I like this one well enough that I am contemplating getting one in grey to use outside of work.

I like the price point and weight of this setup. I’ve found that a sling bag works best for me however I always find myself longing for more space and items. Nonetheless I understand that it’s all give and take. Solid blog, I look forward to reading more of your articles.

Yes it is a matter of give and take. If we have more room, we can convince ourselves to fill it up. With experience we learn what we need. Someday like Indiana Jones we might need that extra space to carry that relic. But seriously, it is nice to have room in case we need to add a spare pair of socks, knee brace, or anything else out of our normal daily routine.
